Starc became the most expensive seller in IPL history: KKR bought him for ₹24.75 crore, Cummins’ record was sold for ₹20.50 crore, broken in one and a half hour.

Indian Premier League (IPL) mini auction continues in Dubai. Australia’s Mitchell Starc became the most expensive player in IPL history. He was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 24.75 crore, Gujarat also bid for him till the end.

In the same auction, Australia’s Pat Cummins was sold for Rs 20.50 crore. He was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad just one and a half hours before Starc. Harshal Patel became the most expensive Indian player in this auction. He was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 11.75 crore.

21 players sold, 9 players’ place vacant in Kolkata
So far 21 players have been sold, 14 foreign and 7 Indian players found buyers. There are still 56 players’ places vacant in 10 teams. Gujarat still has the highest purse of Rs 31.85 crore. The place of 9 players is vacant in Kolkata Knight Riders and they have only Rs 6.95 crore left.

Kolkata-Gujarat clash for Starc
An initial bidding war was seen between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals for Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc. Delhi bid up to Rs 9.60 crore and Mumbai bid up to Rs 10 crore. From here there was a bidding war between Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders. Ultimately Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for Rs 24.75 crore.

Bidding war started in Bengaluru-Hyderabad for Cummins
Bidding war started between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians for Australian captain Pat Cummins. Mumbai started with a base price of Rs 2 crore, they bid up to Rs 5 crore. From here a bidding war took place in Bengaluru and Chennai. Both teams need a captain. Chennai bid up to Rs 10 crore. Bengaluru and Hyderabad bid up to Rs 20 crore. Hyderabad finally bought him for Rs 20.50 crore

Chennai bought Mitchell for Rs 14 crore

Punjab bought Harshal for Rs 11.75 crore
There was a bidding war between Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings for slower ball specialist Harshal Patel. Gujarat bid up to Rs 10.75 crore, followed by Lucknow Supergiants. Punjab still held on till the end and bought Harshal for Rs 11.75 crore. He became the most expensive Indian player of this auction.

Bidding war in Lucknow-Bangalore for Alzarri Joseph
There was a bidding war between Lucknow Supergiants and Royal Challengers Bangalore for West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph. His bid, which started at Rs 1 crore, reached beyond Rs 10 crore. He was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 11.50 crore.

Rachin-Hasaranga sold cheaply, Smith-Ferguson unsold
New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell joined Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 crore. Rachin Ravindra was sold for just Rs 1.80 crore. Sri Lanka’s Vanindu Hasaranga also became a part of Hyderabad for Rs 1.50 crore. While Australia’s Steve Smith and New Zealand’s Lockie Ferguson remained unsold.

All spinners unsold in Set-5
The names of foreign spinners came up in Set-5, not even one found a buyer. In this, no one bid for Afghanistan’s Waqar Salamkheel, England’s Adil Rashid, West Indies’ Akil Hussain, South Africa’s Tabrez Shamsi, New Zealand’s Ish Sodhi and Afghanistan’s Mujeeb Ur Rehman.

Madushanka sold for Rs 4.60 crore
Josh Hazlewood and Lockie Ferguson remained unsold in set-4. Sri Lanka’s Dilshan Madushanka was bought by Mumbai for Rs 4.60 crore. In this set, Jaydev Unadkat was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 1.60 crore. Chetan Sakariya was bought by Kolkata for Rs 50 lakh in Set-4.

Shivam Mavi sold for Rs 6.40 crore
Indian fast bowler Umesh Yadav was bought by Gujarat Titans for Rs 5.80 crore. His base price was Rs 2 crore. The bid of Shivam Mavi, which had a base price of Rs 50 lakh, also crossed Rs 1 crore. There was a bidding war between Bengaluru and Lucknow, finally Lucknow bought him for Rs 6.40 crore.

Only 2 players were sold in Set-3
In Wicketkeeper’s Set-3, names of 5 players came up, but only 2 found buyers. Tristan Stubbs was bought by Delhi for Rs 50 lakh. KS Bharat was also bought by Kolkata for Rs 50 lakh only. Phil Salt, Josh Inglis and Kusal Mendis remained unsold.

Cootzie will play from Mumbai, Vox Punjab
Bidding was done on 9 all-rounders in Set-2, all were bought. Australia’s Pat Cummins was the most expensive, he was bought by Hyderabad for Rs 20.50 crore. Chennai included Daryl Mitchell for Rs 14 crore, while Harshal Patel joined Punjab for Rs 11.75 crore. At the end of this set, Gerald Coetzee became part of Mumbai for Rs 5 crore and Chris Woakes became part of Punjab for Rs 4.20 crore.

Shardul joins CSK
Rachin Ravindra, who had a base price of Rs 50 lakh, joined Chennai for Rs 1.80 crore. Delhi had also bid for him. Chennai also bought Shardul Thakur in Set-2 for Rs 4 crore. Hyderabad had also bid for him.

Hasaranga sold at base price itself
Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga’s purchase in set-2 surprised everyone. He was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad at the base price of Rs 1.50 crore. Azmatullah Omarzai was bought by Gujarat Titans for Rs 50 lakh. Chennai included New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra for just Rs 1.80 crore.

4 players remained unsold in Set-1
Only 3 players were sold in Set-1, while 4 players remained unsold. Karun Nair, Steve Smith, Riley Russo and Manish Pandey did not find buyers.

Rovman Powell sold for ₹ 7.40 crore
The bid for West Indies T-20 captain Rovman Powell crossed Rs 7 crore. His name came first in the auction. His base price was Rs 1 crore and there was a bidding war for him between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan bought him for Rs 7.40 crore.

World Cup star Travis Head goes to Hyderabad for Rs 6.80 crore
Travis Head, who was the hero in the ODI World Cup for Australia, was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 6.80 crore. Chennai also bid for him. The base price of the head was Rs 2 crore. Head had scored a fifty in the semi-finals of the World Cup and a century against India in the final.

Harry Brook goes to Delhi for Rs 4 crore, Russo unsold
England’s middle order batsman Harry Brook was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 4 crore. Rajasthan had also bid for him. Riley Russo of South Africa remained unsold in set-1.

How many players in which base price?
2 crore is the biggest base price of the auction, there are 23 players in it. There are names of 13 players in the base price of Rs 1.50 crore and 14 players in Rs 1 crore. There are 11 players in the base price of 75 lakhs. Apart from these, the base price of 206 players is Rs 20 lakh, 6 players are Rs 30 lakh, 4 players are Rs 40 lakh and the base price of 56 players is Rs 50 lakh.
